| Class Description |
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No formal entry requirements but students should have an interest in art & a willingness to explore various art materials. GENERAL AIM OF THE COURSE: To assist students in creating work using a variety of different media & art techniques such as collage, pen & ink, acrylic paints, chalks, crayons & printmaking. Each student will aim to finish course with a varied portfolio. LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the course students will have learned To confidently use media & techniques that they've not used before. To express themselves creatively with guidance from the tutor. To use a sketchbook for reference & ideas based work. METHODS & APPROACHES TO TEACHING THE COURSE: A series of still life studies will be set up each week for the students to study I.e., the natural world, sea, colour, textures etc. (students will have input in choice of set up), advice will be given on using different media & art technique skills. A relaxed atmosphere is encouraged with the opportunity to discuss a broad range of artists. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENTS Students will be required by provide their own materials HOWEVER you may wish to wait until the class commences to get information/advice from the class tutor before purchasing expensive materials and to confirm viability of class. Students may wish to take some "basic" art materials to the first session of the class. e.g. paper, drawing pencil and/or paints.
