Class Description
ENTRY REQUIREMENT: This course is designed for students who have already had fifteen or over fifteen weeks of Mandarin lessons.
GENERAL AIM OF THE COURSE To enhance what the students have learnt in the past weeks and continue to develop new language skill.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES 1. To revise what we have learned; It will be include exercise sheets and more conversation practice in the class. 2. Have more understanding structure of Chinese characters; using the learned characters to built the new sentences; 3. Practice write simple sentences ; 4. Using the sentence to express their daily life; 5. Try to read some Chinese poems and simple story; 6. To learn the Chinese grammar; 7. How to ask for directions; asking for help; 8. Describe different kind of jobs;
GENERAL APPROACH TO THE COURSE Role plays and games will be used through out the lessons. DVD and tapes will be used to show authentic scenarios to aid the learning. LEARNING OUTCOMES:
by the end of the course, the students will be able to: 1. express themselves on above topics, either individually or in groups, in Mandarin with confidence; 2. make simple sentences; 3. understand the basic Chinese grammar.
MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT: Students will be required by provide their own materials HOWEVER students may wish to wait until the class commences to get information/advice from tutor before purchasing costly materials e.g. Text Books, until they confirm the viability of the class.
