Class Description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No formal entry requirements
GENERAL AIM OF THE COURSE: To give students the confidence and ability to be able to cook a variety of contemporary dishes at home LEARNING OUTCOME: Students will learn how to cook as opposed to simply following a recipe; the importance of the senses- taste, smell & texture and the importance of the presentation of food; appearance, colour, and garnish.
GENERAL APPROACH TO THE COURSE: The first meeting of the class will involve a demonstration by the tutor; recipes will be given out for the following weeks.
MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENTS: Students will be required to provide their own ingredients. Hand towel, tea towel, apron , kitchen knives, bottle of washing up liquid, containers for carrying food home. Items of equipment from home may be required for certain recipes Costs will vary depending on the dish.
