Class Description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No formal entry requirements. Sessions include extra optional items which allow both beginners and those with some experience to work at their own pace and produce simple or more advanced items as they wish
GENERAL AIM OF THE COURSE To learn about and try out a range of baking techniques and skills in an informal environment. To find out how straightforward and enjoyable home baking can be, and to pick up some hints and tips to make it easier. LEARNING OUTCOMES 1. Understanding of baking principles and methods. 2. Experience of baking techniques. 3. Creation of some delicious home baking – which your family and friends will love to help you eat ! 4. Use of recipes from many different sources.
GENERAL APPROACH TO THE COURSE An informal class with demonstrations and explanations by the tutor and plenty of individual help for students as required.
MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENTS: You will be given details week by week. The basic ingredients are relatively inexpensive and most tins and equipment can be borrowed or shared. It might be useful to take a notebook and pen/pencil along to the first session.
