ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No special requirements, just enjoying cooking
GENERAL AIM OF THE COURSE: To teach the basic skills of Italian Cookery LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of the course students will have - Learned how to read and interpret an Italian recipe and create a range of dishes Increased knowledge of the story of the most popular dishes, and the part food plays in Italian culture. METHODS & APPROACHES TO TEACHING THE COURSE: This is a practical class. The first week will consist of a demonstration by the tutor and an introduction to recipes for the following weeks. From there students will work with guidance from the tutor to produce a range of Italian dishes.
MATERIALS STUDENTS NEED TO PROVIDE, APPROX COSTS, AND ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL COSTS: Ingredients for the given recipes week to week, also equipment that may not be available in the school. The tutor will advise on any required. Containers to take food home in. Own tea towel and small bottle of washing up liquid.
