| Class Description |
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No formal entry requirements but some familiarity with the kitchen is assumed! GENERAL AIM OF THE COURSE: Over 10 weeks, students will be able to prepare a variety of startersm main courses and desserts. They will increase their self confidence in the kitchen and the course will introduce them to ingredients they may not have tried before. We will use recipes from around the world from readily available and current sources (books, internet and magazines) LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the course students will have learned: 1. Some new cooking techniques 2. Some great new recipes to add to their repertoire GENERAL APPROACH TO THE COURSE: A practical, fund anc informal class, with tutor demonstrating some of the recipes. Recipes will be given on a week-by-week basis along with a discussion about the ingredients and any utensils that may be required. The first class will be purely demonstration and thereafter students will recieve as much individual help and guidance as possible MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENTS: Students should bring pots and pans to cook in, apron tea towel, washing up liquid, their own knives, any utensils they may need for cooking plus the ingredients for the recipes each wekk (cists will vary) Students should also bring containers to take food home in. PLEASE NOTE: The viability of a class is dependent on a sufficient number of enrolled students. For this reason students are advised to wait until the first session of the class before purchasing any expensive items of equipment or materials. Students could bring a notebook and pen/pencil to frist session.
