ENTRY REQUIREMENTS This class is designed for beginners and there are no formal entry requirements however, it would be helpful if learners enrolling for this course knew a few words or phrases of English
GENERAL AIM OF THE COURSE To provide learners with a basic knowledge of English for personal, leisure and work purposes. LEARNING OBJECIVES - To enable learners to express themselves more confidently and correctly in English in a variety of social, leisure and work settings - To enable learners to become familiar with and to practise grammatically acceptable forms of English. LEARNING OUTCOMES:
by the end of the course learners will be able to: - Greet people in formal and informal situations - Talk about themselves and their family - Give and understand descriptions of people and places - Give and understand instructions and directions - Ask questions on a variety of topics and understand the answers to these questions - Read simply structured texts - Become familiar with the most usual informal expressions in English.
GENERAL APPROACH TO THE COURSE Tutor input, exercises and language activities, role plays and games will be used through out the course. CDs or DVDs will be used to show authentic scenarios to aid learning.
