Class Description
Please note there is only on-street parking at this venue. To give learners near native competence in English in terms of improving their fluency and sophistication in their use of the language.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES - To develop learners' fluency and spontaneity in English and widen the range of expressions available to them - To give learners the opportunity to reflect on and practise a variety of forms of English and to familiarise them with the range of idiomatic expressions and language styles available to them LEARNING OUTCOMES:
by the end of the course learners will be able to: - Demonstrate linguistic versatility in conversations in English, making use of a wide variety of idiomatic expressions and language styles - Read newspaper and magazine articles on a wide variety of topics - Understand and (where appropriate) enjoy films made for the British and American markets, TV and radio programmes, including regional dramas - "Tune in" to overheard conversations and regional accents
GENERAL APPROACH TO THE COURSE Tutor input, language activities and exercises, role plays and games, will be used through out the course. CDs or DVDs will be used to show authentic scenarios to aid learning.
